Our Program
We are a residential home in the city of Tustin with 6 beds for girls ages 12-17 years. Our home is staffed by houseparents at all times. All teens are required to abide by a set of rules which are designed to provide structure and a common basis for individuals living together, as well as ensure safety for all living in the home. Teenagers are required to attend school while in residence, as well as their jobs and other activities in which they are involved. Laurel House requires individual and family counseling services for all sheltered teens.
Eligibility
- Girls 12-17
- Teens who can no longer live at home and desire a cooling off period
- Teens whose parents have expressed desire to participate in the program
Teens Not Eligible
- Emancipated minors (including married or with children)
- Teens in need of drug or alcohol detoxification
- Teens who present a clear danger to themselves or others
- Teens on probation or with a criminal record
Intake A telephone call from a teen or a referral group begins the intake procedure. The teen must indicate her desire and willingness to stay at Laurel House. Information from both the youth and parent(s) is gathered to determine eligibility and suitability for the program. Written parental/guardian permission is required for admission to Laurel House.

Before I got to Laurel House life didn’t mean anything to me. I was sent here for trying to run away, getting caught with drugs at school, and running away for 2 days and a night. At home my mom and I couldn’t even have a decent conversation without an argument. School was a place I rarely visited. I’d go out and rarely tell my mom the truth about with whom or where I would go. Nothing was going good in my life. Laurel House has helped me so much. If it wasn’t for Laurel House I think I’d be in Juvenile Hall right now. Especially the counseling has helped. Without counseling my mom and I would not be able to talk to each other as we do right now. But, the greatest thanks goes to God for helping my mom and I get through my problems! -- Former Resident
