Eligibility


Teenage girls ages 12-17 years old who:

  • Have a history of running away
  • Have behavioral and/or educational struggles
  • Are experimenting with drugs and/or alcohol
  • Show signs of depression and/or erratic behavior
  • Need a temporary break from their families due to tense circamstances at home
  • Are willing with their parents to participate fully in the Laurel House program


Teens Not Eligible:

  • Emancipated minors
  • Teens in need of drug or alcohol detoxification
  • Teens who present a clear danger to themselves or others
  • Teens on probation or with a criminal record
  • Teens who are pregnant

Intake Process:
The intake process begins with a phone call from either the teen in crisis or the parents. Both the teenager and the parents must be willing to cooperate and participate in the Laurel House program. Interviews with the teen and parents are conducted to determine eligibility and suitability for the program. Written parental/guardian permission is required for admission to Laurel House.
